Owner
Terry Quast purchased Motorless Motion in 1976, and considers Motorless Motion to be not only the name of his store, but a way of life, driving automobiles only when necessary—on the average, once a week. Over the years he was a Cat 3 road racer, a PSIA Associate Nordic Ski Instructor, a National Ski Patrol Nordic Patroller, SSI Advanced Scuba Diver, and an ACA Advanced Open Boat whitewater canoeist. In 1985 he began a 10-year career as an EMT, then Paramedic, and finally an Instructor/Coordinator with certifications in ACLS, PALS, BTLS and ATLS, among others. Now he is semi-retired, working as a mechanic in the summer months, and spending the fall and winter canoeing great waterways such as the Mississippi River, the Florida Keys, the Suwannee River, the Boundary Waters, and the Adirondacks.






Store Manager
Allison Quast grew up at Motorless Motion, and left for college wanting nothing to do with it ever again; but after college her life took an unplanned trip back to Mt. Pleasant, and the bike shop. She quickly realized that she loved life while working at the bike shop, but found herself needing to do more to change Mt. Pleasant to the town she wanted to spend the rest of her life in. So she got involved, and now sits on the Downtown Development Board, the Tour de Mont Pleasant planning committee, the Vision 20/20 Quality of Life committee, am Manager of the Mid MI Cycling club, Vice-Chair of the Mid MI Community Pathways group, and assists with many other groups to create a more bike-able and walk-able community.
